What's My Kid Wearing Today?

So there have been some big changes around the Brown-David compound.  Ashni (after having her hair locked for 7 years) and Jena (after having her hair locked for almost 4 years) decided that they wanted to cut their hair.  Now, I have always been the mom who was not attached to the girls hair or what they did with it (or so I thought).  Honestly, cutting it was a bit traumatic for me.  I couldn't sleep after I did it!  Because I knew that they didn't want to completely shave their heads, I agreed to help them "take their hair down".  That sounds so much simpler than it actually was.  We devoted an entire weekend (from sun up to sun down) wetting and picking their hair loose.  It was an ORDEAL!  The girls are very happy with their new look and it's starting to grow on me.  Now, I just have to get used to hair being a part of our daily routine.  That hasn't happened in ages.  Anywho, Jena has discovered that she can find how to hair videos on  YouTube and has been experimenting with different styles.  This was her do today and the outfit to go with.

brown desert boots - Rocket Dog ($9.99 at Tuesday Morning)
skinny jeans - Arizona ($3 at JCPenney)
shirt - Cherokee ($2.49 at Goodwill)

Total Outfit - approx. $15.50

  2. I thought her hair looked like it was free-strand natural in the pics. LOVE THE STYLE!!! I have a few vids on my YT channel for cute styles also (www.youtube.com/modhutch).

I remember taking down my 9-month teen locs, that was not fun, I can only imagine what it's like with 4/7 year old locs.

And on doing girls' hair. You already know mine has a HEAD-FULL OF IT! It's nice that the girls are old enough to do it themselves :)
